Duck Hunting Opening Weekend...

Travis and his friend Travis worked on the duck boat last Saturday and finished up with it last night so that they could go duck hunting. The hunt actually opened up yesterday, but with the bad weather there weren't to many people out...but today was a good day as you will see below!

I haven't had professional pics done of Bekka for a long, long time and so I decided that I would go out and take some myself! I still want to take her somewhere once the leaves in the valley change color, but I had to take some bridal portraits for a family friend and decided that I would take Bekka along and take some snapshots of her! Hope you enjoy seeing them since I enjoyed taking them! :)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!!!

I can't believe that it is snowing already! This is the first snow we have seen up in the Ogden, UT area. I know that we have had snow previous to this in other areas of Utah, like down in Salt Lake or up in the mountains, but man this is really early! I have been looking forward to this though after a long hot summer. Here is a picture I took from my deck...hopefully you will be able to see the snow, if it snows more, I will take some and post them when there is more light! There hasn't been any acumulation on the ground as of yet though...it is just really wet from raining all morning long!

I bought Bekka some watercolor paints at the store the other night and she has been painting up a storm ever since! She has got such a great imagination and is really good at coloring, painting and anything artistic! Just thought I would share some of what she has done....

Black Island Farms...

Today we went with our friends Jen and Hannah to Black Island Farms to go on a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch so the kids could pick thier own pumpkin out. Everyone who worked there was so nice and came out to cut the pumpkins off of the vine for us and then they must have felt so bad for me being pregnant that one of the farmers even carried both of my pumpkins to the trailer and then to the car for me. Here are some pictures of our time there! Jen and I decided that we are going to make it a tradition every year to go there for the ride out to the patch!!!!

Update....9/28/07

Not alot to report this week!

I had my Dr. Appt on Monday morning and the baby was still head down!!! :) Thank goodness! I also have not dilated at all :(.....but hopefully by my appt this Monday I will. I also found out at my last appt that my Dr will be at a Norwegian festival in Minot, ND from Oct 10th - 14th so we are not going to be induced until the 15th if I haven't gone by then. If I don't go before the 10th on my own, this little one better not come while he is gone!!!! Dr. did tell me that I could still be induced on the 12th if I wanted to, but one of the on call Dr's would have to deliver me and I would rather have the same Dr deliver me that delivered the others! I also had told him that I felt more comfortable since he turned the baby, but I think I am eating my words! My back hurts, I have to go to the bathrooom ALOT more often in the middle of the night than what I used to and I am so, very tired now! Atleast when I fall asleep I sleep more soundly which is good to be able to do that. I also have been trying to rest in the afternoons a little bit, but most of the time it is just sitting and putting my feet up for an hour or so, but I guess that is better than nothing!

Other than that, not much went on here this last week!!!!!

UPDATE....9/20/07

We have sprinklers!!!! We dug trenches weekend before last and our system was put in by our neighbor that owns a landscape company last Friday. We covered up the trenches and moved dirt around the yard. Travis built a driveway out of roadbase along the West side on our property. I think he had a good time working in the yard since we were able to borrow a skippy loader (small version of a big loader) to move the dirt around and dig the trenches! We also now have trees to. We planted those the same weekend we dug the trenches. I tell you what though, I am starting to re-think the idea that I thought it would be fun to put in a yard!!!!! What a pain! But it will be nice once we have it finished! I think we may sod the front, sides and some of the back and then seed the rest. We are going to wait to put up our fence until Spring, and I need to call a concrete curbing company to come out and do the decorative curb. Hopefully they will be able to do it the first part of next week.

Tuesday the 18th was Abbi's one year day from when she passed away. We miss her so very much! It was a pretty emotional last few weeks leading up to that day. I think that the anticipation of the day was the hardest part than the actual day itself. Travis was able to come home and be with us on that day instead of being down in Moab or Salina and that helped. We took a dozen dark purple balloons and 1 white one to release (the white one symbolized 1 yr). I will add a white on every year because you can see the white one for alot longer period of time when released than the others. We also took up some fresh cut flowers and I took up some potted mums on Monday afternoon when I went to oil the headstone to make it look nice for if anyone went up to see her that day.

Also on Tuesday my Mom took off work because I had a Dr Appt to see if the baby had turned and no such luck. So we opted to go ahead and do the external version and have the baby turned externally. So far so good, baby Wentz is now head down (locked & loaded, LOL). I hope that I will go into labor on my own sometime the first week of October, but if not, we will still be induced on Oct 12th.

Not much else going on here though.....just anticipating the baby coming now!!!

UPDATE....

Well, baby Wentz will be her in a matter of 6 weeks! We can't wait!!! My next Dr. Appt is on Tuesday morning and hopefully baby will be head down instead of breech! We will see!!!!!

Bekka has been in school now for just over a week and boy am I tired!!!! Getting up early three days a week when you are not used to it is pretty hard to do! But I am surviving! She is so excited for the baby to come!

Travis is pretty much finished working down in Moab and they are going to be wrapping things up down there and hopefully we will be bringing our trailer home by the end of Sept. and he should be home for the Fall/Winter months! We have a lot of things going on in the next few months! Sept will be filled with trying to get the yard put in. We still have alot to do! We have leveled it, but we need to put in sprinklers, fence, concrete curbing, trees & sod......and with him only home on the weekends, that pretty much fills them up! The baby is coming Oct 12th, and Travis has his deer tag to fill which the hunt begins on Oct 20th (my actual due date). Then Travis will be going on his annual Pheasant Hunt in South Dakota with his little friends and depending on when he goes, we all may go and the kids and I will stay at his Mom's house while he goes on to South Dakota. Then we will head up to the farm to visit family and friends up there for a few days! The first weekend of November I have my annual Scrapbook Overnighter that I am very excited about going to, then hopefully we will be able to spend the rest of November at home! Our anniverisary is on Nov. 10th (six years) and then the whole first week of December we will be in Texas! Once we get back home, there won't be much time for anything else before Christmas and then Travis's Birthday is coming up also then New Year's! So the rest of our year is just getting full!

Our poor dog was diagnosed with diabetes in June and she had started loosing her eye sight and now it is pretty much non-existant. I feel so badly for her not being able to see. I don't know how I would deal with not being able to communicate verbally and not being able to see would just scare me to death! I am sure that she is pretty scared about it. She can hear and that is good! Pretty much she just lays around now and doesn't do anything. Travis is pretty sad that he won't be able to take her out hunting one last season and I am sure that Sam will have a hard time with that as well because she lives to go out and hunt with Travis.

Well, now that I have written a novel and most of it probably doesn't make any sense, but hope everyone is doing well and keep in touch!!!! I am going to try to atleast post a weekly update about our family, sometimes it may be with pictures and sometimes not. :)

I had the opportunity to take some engagement pictures down by Scipio for our friends daughter Kara and her fiance Zach. They were so much fun to shoot. Bekka's First Day Of School 2007

Bekka had her first day of school yesterday. She is in her second year of preschool and in the 4 year old morning class on Monday's, Wednesday's & Friday's! I have to get up before 7:00 to get me ready, get her up by 7:15 (she is a slow poke and sooooo crabby in the mornings!!!!!) so that she can have breakfast, get dressed and hair done, and then we have to leave our house by 8:00 so that she can be there in time for class to start at 8:30! I don't know who it will be harder for her or me to get used to this schedule, especially when the baby gets here! Luckily Travis should be home by the time the baby comes! Baby Wentz Update

Well, I have begun visiting the Dr every 2 weeks now! Travis and I realized that my due date was on the opening day of the deer hunt in Utah! LOL!!!! What timing!!!! Anyway, I mentioned it to my Dr and he said that we could schedule and induction for Friday, Oct 12th and if they don't have the availability for that date, we will be having the little one on Monday, Oct 15th!!!! The baby is breech, but he is certain that the baby will turn by my next appt. I hope so!
